The SIGMA Research Symposium invites you to participate in the Annual SIGMA Research Symposium 2023 on Ageing and Well-being over the Life Course to be held on May 11-12, 2023 at Hitotsubashi University, Tokyo. Inviting researchers and Ph.D. candidates from all SIGMA member institutions, industry/community experts and policymakers, the symposium aims to exchange and discuss research findings and related policy implications in the area of ageing and well-being over the life course. By doing so, it will help align research interests of young researchers and graduate students to promote research on these issues and develop research capacity in common topics of interest among SIGMA members.

The program will explore the following specific sub-themes that correspond to the four key dimensions of well-being, namely economic, mental, physical, and social well-being. Possible paper topics include, but are not limited to: healthcare insurance, social security and public pension, retirement preparedness, mental resilience over the life course, impact of COVID-19 on mental well-being, impact of interventions on mental health and well-being, preventive healthcare policies and approaches, and endemic and new norms. The symposium will be in English and held in a hybrid manner of in-person plus online participation.
